Mangawhai Riparian Planting Group
Four application engineers spent Saturday 28th July assisting the Mangawhai Riparian Planting Group.
We (Howard, Karl , Jose and Sam) joined the group working bee planting and weeding for a couple of hours – the wussy bits.
When the planting was done and the crowds went home came the fun bits for the rest of the day.
The world’s tallest pampas fell in swathes before the brush cutter , pole saw and chain saw.
Karl prowled the bullrushes and murdered unwary privets with a very sharp saw and poison. Watsonia bulbifera bulbs were pulled from the earth and slaughtered in innovative ways.
Lisa, Karl’s hardworking daughter, stripped the sprouting bulbils and we killed them (the babies) too.
An immensely satisfying day of destruction.
